Mark studied Law at City University in London and completed the Legal Practice Course in 2003. He was admitted as a solicitor in June 2007.
Mark joined Lockharts in May 2005 and prior to that he worked in an established private client firm in Central London and was also exercising his legal expertise as a trustee for a charity assisting asthma sufferers.
Since joining us, Mark has advised generally on NHS Regulatory law and NHS contracts. Mark has assisted both doctors and dentists in the referral of PCT disputes to the Litigation Authority and has also assisted with judicial review. Mark was heavily involved in PMS reviews/negotiations and assisted GP practices and LMCs around the country. Mark was also involved in advising on the PBC initiative and assisted GPs in the set up of corporate entities and the governing arrangements for PBC consortia.
Mark currently leads Lockharts' dental team and in addition to handling NHS disputes, Mark has focused on advising dentists and dental care professionals on the commercial aspects of dentistry including:
• Sale and purchase of NHS and private dental practices;
• Incorporation of dental bodies corporate;
• Preparation of tailored partnership, joint venture and expense sharing arrangements, and
• Negotiation of commercial contracts.
Mark also advises medical clients on commercial contracts and the set up of corporate entities, including companies and LLPs.
Outside of Lockharts, Mark is a regular visitor to his local gym, enjoys playing badminton and is a keen supporter of Gillingham Football Club. He is also an experienced campanologist.
