Solicitor
Alison completed the Legal Practice Course with distinction in 2005 and was awarded a national Law Society prize for achieving among the highest scores in the country. She was also runner up in the City of Westminster and Holborn Law Society’s Gamlen Law Prize in Autumn 2005, a prestigious award recognising trainee solicitors who demonstrate the ability to convey complex legal concepts to lay clients.
Prior to joining Lockharts, Alison worked for Londonwide Local Medical Committees as a finance executive. She previously worked in other roles, including working as a membership trainer for Amnesty International’s International Secretariat and a public relations assistant for the College of Pharmacy Practice.
Alison started work with Lockharts as a trainee solicitor in September 2005 and was admitted as a solicitor in September 2007. She currently works in the commercial team and leads the firm’s work on GP practice takeovers, mergers and succession arrangements. She also specialises in company and LLP formation tailored to the particular requirements of the healthcare sector, and advises on employment issues. Alison has had a number of articles published in healthcare sector magazines on various legal issues and also lectures on a range of topics.
Alison is a keen cyclist, goes to the gym regularly and recently completed a 10km run for charity. She also sings in a community choir.
